I felt like an imposter because inside I was seeing all my mistakes and flaws, but people around me saw me as the “perfect” woman. Thanks to my perfectionism I had created a massive gap between how people saw me and how I saw myself, and this gave my inner critic plenty of fuel to go at me. I tried to cover my insecurities by doing even more and I felt trapped in a loop of expectations and responsibilities. When I tried to be vulnerable about it people downplayed it, and I suppressed the emotions completely to the point where I felt lonely. See how I admitted to myself that my ways of thinking were harmful and how I found an anchor by delving deeper into my faith. I started being more honest with the young people around me and allowed them to see me without the mask. This helped me lighten the burden and also see my vulnerability as a strength.
